Established in 1982 by Rob Bird, Paramount Safety Products initially focused on providing laundering and recycling services for industrial gloves. By 1984, the company expanded its offerings to include new personal protective equipment (PPE) products and gloves.

Over the years, Paramount Safety Products expanded its operations, opening multiple locations and eventually launching its own brand, Prochoice Safety Gear, in the mid-1990s. Today, as a wholesaler, the company serves various regions including Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Asia, North America, and Europe, offering a diverse range of products and services.
